This article discusses the main differences between food allergy and food intolerance, the mechanisms of their development, clinical symptoms and practical approaches to diagnosis. Food allergy has an immunological basis and often leads to severe clinical manifestations, while intolerance develops due to enzyme deficiency and manifests itself dose-dependently. A correct understanding of these differences is important for maintaining children's health and choosing dietary approaches
