This work examines the key role of organic chemistry in modern medical practice. Organic compounds form the basis for the development of pharmaceuticals, diagnostic reagents, and the fundamental biochemical processes of the human body. Special attention is paid to the relationship between the chemical structure of compounds and their pharmacological activity and safety of use. Contemporary approaches to the synthesis and optimization of medicinal agents are analyzed, including targeted therapy, prodrugs, and innovative diagnostic methods. The study concludes that organic chemistry plays a critically important role as a fundamental science for the progress of medicine and for improving patients’ quality of life
