Tuberculosis remains a major global health problem, and although the disease's prevalence in adults has been emphasized, the impact of TB on children cannot be ignored. Diagnosing and treating tuberculosis in children poses specific challenges due to the specific presentation of the disease, limitations of diagnostic tools, and the need for age-specific treatment regimens. In this article, we review challenges related to the diagnosis and treatment monitoring of pediatric tuberculosis, and discuss tailored approaches, innovative diagnostic technologies, and monitoring strategies to ensure optimal outcomes for pediatric patients.
