Abstract

Assessment of the influence of the clinical course of the disease on the occurrence of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in children with indications for adenotomy and adenotonsillotomy. The study included 67 children aged 4 to 14 years. All patients underwent polysomnography, anterior active rhinomanometry and nasopharyngeal endoscopy. Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome was not observed in 89.9% of patients in group 1. Group 2 was not observed in 88.2% of patients. When pulse oximetry was repeated in patients of the 1st group, it was 98%, in patients of the 2nd group - 96%. Improved nasal breathing after adenotomy, confirmed by rhinomanometry, leads to improved sleep, as shown by the results of polysomnography.
